I was born in 1960, Pasabahce, Istanbul. After completing my elementary school education, I started to work near to my father Necmettin Enes who is an expert of glass. I learned the technical details of this art from him, continued my profession for a long period of time.
In 1994, I took marbling courses from lawyer Tulay Taslacioglu for 2 years in service association of Turkish culture Caferaga Theological School to get some deep understanding and information about the nature of marbling art.
I continued my Works in my own marbling place (which was established in my house) up to May-1998. I started my Professional career in Caferaga Theological School, Ahmet Yesevi association at the same year. I opened my marbling gallery work shop for the first time during the history of marbling after 100 years later, still carrying my works at the same place.
One of the old gentleman visited my art gallery during the first establishment days, expressed his happiness and appreciation during his visit. He also requested and asked from me to make another visit into our gallery together with his friends by giving a small present. The day after his visit at 23.04.2002, he gave us the first flag of our gallery stating the fact that ‘‘Today is our national day ’’.
This special quest named as Mr. Mustafa Diken, when he was traveling and looking around the different marbling of my gallery, he shares his opinions by telling his happiness in the following sentences with me. ‘’ I have seen so many different kinds of marbling, so many different styles of flower marbling, especially the flowers. But only the smell is missing in your rose ones. I will call you father of rose from now on ’’.
The same statement is also been used by Mr. Ekrem Kaftan (poet and journalist) during one of our feature with him in Turkey newspaper, reminding my conversation with Mr. Mustafa Diken before, giving an initial starting point into my nickname. I would like to kindly express my deep appreciation to all of the marbling lovers who have honored me with this nickname.
